What is Facebook Authorship?
Facebook said in their official annoucement that:
Journalists use Facebook to share news as it happens and provide analysis to deepen the reader’s connection with their work. By implementing the Author Tag on their websites, publishers can make it easy for Facebook readers to start following the author of an article they just read and enjoyed. This is a web development tool that connects the byline in a story preview in the News Feed to the writer’s Page or Profile with Follow.
People use Facebook every day to discover what’s going on in the world. The Author Tag helps connect those people to the stories and journalists that best inform and entertain them.
With This authorship feature, when anyone share your content on facebook, then automatically facebook add the author tag which is termed as "By abc ". earlier it was just the name being displayed. Now your profile/page link will also be displayed. To understand it in better way take a look on the below screen shot.

How to Setup Facebook Authorship to Blogger
Setting facebook authorship feature to blogger is really very simple and doesn't require any rocket science :p
To enable this feature follow the below steps:
- Before you start first you have to enable the follow me option in your profile. to do that follow the below steps
Go to your Facebook Settings
Click on the Followers Tab
And then set Who can follow me to "Everybody"
NOTE: The accounts with age less than 18 years do not have this feature. SO to enable this feature change your age in the settings. - Ok, now you are ready to add the facebook authorship feature to blogger blog.
- Goto your blogger blog dashboard >> Template >> EDIT HTML
- Now, search for <head> tag by pressing CTRL+F.
- Now in head section paste the following below code:
- <meta property="article:author" content="https://www.facebook.com/itmagzine1" /> <meta content='https://www.facebook.com/itmagzine1' property='article:author'/>
- CUSTOMIZATION:Replace the highligted links with your facebook profile or page link.
- Now save your template
- CONGRATS! You have successfully installed the facebook authorship feature to your blogger blog.
LAST Step to enable this feature
Now you are almost done here. To enable this feature instantly follow the below steps:
- Go to facebook Object debugger
- At there enter the url of your any blog post or simply your blog home page.
- Now click on DEBUG button
- Now, scroll down, this will display your link's preview. Check that if it contain the authorship link or not.
- If it doesn't show the authorship tag in your link's preview then click on the Fetch new Scrap Information.
- Now, it will start showing your authorship tag in the preview. You have successfully enabled facebook authorship feature.
