How to Automatically Create Blogger Post from Youtube Video

Adding a youtube video to blogger is very simple but as you know that it is also a time consuming, because it requires you to manually login to your blogger dashboard and then create a new post, and then embed the youtube video in it.

Is you ever wanted that when you upload any video on your youtube channel then it will automatically get published on your blogger blog as a new post? If you, then you are at right place because here I am going to reveal a fantastic way to automatically publish new blogger blog post whenever you upload a new video with same youtube video title as a blog post title, video description as a blog post content, and video labels as a blog post labels. Amazing na!

And this amazing thing can be only done with the IFTTT tool.

What is IFTTT?

IFTTT stands for "If this then that". This tool lets you automate several different works easily based on your needs and criteria. Let's have an example:

If this happens: "a new video upload to youtube channel"
then do that: "create a new post in Blogger"

And simply the above statements collectively called the Recipe. You can create as much recipes as you want for several different web based services.

 Creating YouTube to Blogger Recipe in IFTTT

 Ok, to get started the first thing you need is to have an account on IFTTT. For this go to IFTTT website and sign up. Don't worry its completely free :)

Once you signed up, login to your account. And then click on the "create" from the drop down menu.

By clicking on create, you will be directed to create a new Recipe Wizard. So, to move on next step click on the "this" link.

Now you will see number of different web based services which can be used with IFTTT. Simply scroll down or search for YouTube, and then click to select it.

After clicking on YouTube button, you will be redirected to the next step asking you to connect a new channel. For this you need to click on the Activate button to allow the IFTTT access your YOUTUBE Channel.

Now, a pop up window will open. If you have several youtube channels, then you need to select any one from them of who's videos you want as a blogger blog post. After that click on accept button to allow IFTTT access your youtube channel.

After connecting your Youtube channel now you need to choose a trigger. IFTTT will show you few choices. You need to click on the new public video uploaded by you.

After clicking on this you will be directed to the next step. hich usually allows you to choose fields from your selected trigger. However the trigger we have selected does not have any fields to choose from. Simply click on ‘Create Trigger’ button.

Ok, now you have completed one part of the Recipe that is IF. Clicking on "Create Trigger" will brings you to the that part of the Recipe. This is where you define the action to perform when the recipe is triggered. Click on ‘that’ to continue.

IFTTT now asks you to select the Action Channel. Simply scroll down or search for the Blogger. And then click on it. 

Now it will asks you to choose a blog on which you want to create a new post. Simply select your blog from the list and then click on the Update button.

IFTTT will now asks you to choose an action for blogger. Simply click on the create a post. 

In the next step, you need to choose ingredients from YouTube channel video to add into your blogger blog post. As you can see in the screen shot below, we have chosen to add YouTube video title as the blogger post title. We have used description and URL in the post area. As default, IFTTT have also added its own link in the description. But if you don't want to show IFTTT link in the post then simply remove the highlighted text as seen in the screen shot. 

After that, IFTTT will now display your Recipe details. You need to save your Recipe by clicking  on the create Recipe button.

Important NOTE: By default IFTTT has URL shortening turned on which means that your YouTube URL will be shortened by IFTTT and Blogger will not be able to embed your video. To solve this issue, you need to disable URL shortening in IFTTT. Start by clicking on your username on top right corner of the IFTTT dashboard and then click on Preferences. Next, scroll down to the URL shortening section and disable it.

Final Words

Hah...! That's all Guys and your IFTTT's first Recipe is ready now. Now, IFTTT will automatically checks your youtube channel after every 15 minutes for new youtube videos. And if IFTTT finds any new video then it will automatically creates a new blogger post from youtube video.
